CALL TO ORDER, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE / SALUTE TO THE FLAG OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO and ROLL CALL
Mayor Pro Tem Keith Hamilton, called the Special Meeting/Public Hearing of the Governing Body, Village of Cloudcroft, to order at 6:00 p.m. by calling for the Pledge of Allegiance and Salute to the State Flag. Trustees Keith Hamilton, Gail McCoy and Danny Hardwick were present in person. Trustee Matt Willett was absent and Mayor Gerald Wiley was present via zoom. There were 4 visitors in attendance.

VARIANCE REQUEST – MARK TARANTINO – 1001 MAPLE
Variance Request #VR-2026-21, submitted by Mark Tarantino, 1001 Maple, Cloudcroft, NM, to construct an 840 square foot accessory building, a Variance from the allowable 750 square feet. Mayor Pro Tem Hamilton opened up the Public Hearing explaining that the public hearing would be conducted under the procedures mandated by the NM Court of Appeals in Battershell v. City of Albuquerque, for the purpose of the stated variance request. Mayor Pro Tem Hamilton asked if there were any conflicts of interest by the Governing Body, all stated “no”; and further asked if there had been any ex parte communications by any members of the Governing Body, all stated “no”. Mr. Tarantino presented that he wishes to build a 840 square foot accessory building for the purpose of housing his heavy equipment and protecting it from the weather. Mayor Pro Tem Hamilton asked for comments from the public, there being none, he closed the Public Hearing. Mayor Pro Tem asked for any questions between the applicant, staff and Governing Body, there being none, he entertained a motion. Trustee McCoy made a motion to approve the variance request, Trustee Hardwick seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote of Trustees McCoy, Hardwick and Hamilton all voting “aye”, the motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Governing Body, Mayor Pro Tem Hamilton adjourned the Special Meeting/Public Hearing at 6:10 p.m.
