        2. The Planning and Zoning Commission is a group of five volunteers that work with the Village Council to conduct research and make policy recommendations on land use issues within the Village boundaries and suggestions for surrounding area.
        3. The Planning and Zoning commission duties include review of
          1. Formulating a Village Master Plan
          2. Make recommendations to the board of trustees for the passage of ordinances.
          3. Enforce and carry out the provisions of laws of New Mexico relating to planning, platting, zoning and subdividing but shall be subject to approval by the Village Board of Trustees.
          4. The Commission also hears and discusses at regular meetings
            1. Permits both Building and Signage
            2. Nuisance Reports
            3. Code Violations
        4. Building Construction Notice
          1. The State of New Mexico Construction Industries Division (CID) administers the International Code Council and New Mexico Building Codes for all construction. CID conducts all inspections in the Village of Cloudcroft. Las Cruces office 575-524-6320.
        5. Village Ordinance 9-2-3A “It shall be unlawful to construct, alter, move or demolish a structure (permanent or temporary), set a trailer (mobile home), erect a nonexempt sign, or construct a fence, without first obtaining a village building permit and a state building permit where applicable. (Ord. 322, 10-14-2003)” A fine may be levied 9-2-7A.
