  2. Approval of Agenda: February 26, 2026, Regular Meeting of the Library Advisory Board
  3. Consent Regular Items: Minutes:
    1. Meeting Minutes from September 29, 2025 Librmy Advisory Board Meeting
  4. Public Comment:
    1. Each person receives up to 2 minutes for public comment. Total time for public comment is up to 1 hour. Sign up before meeting begins to make public comments. Comments should pertain to items not on this agenda.
  5. Reports:
    1. Report from librarian, Friends of the Library, and board members, if applicable.
  6. Old Business:
    1. At our last meeting, it was discussed that the director’s attention should focus on the topic of increasing literacy, encouraging reading, and discussions revolving around books and other topics directly related to the library. Art shows, lectures, and book clubs were suggested. Sandra Barr will give an update.
    2. The board awaits clarification on how the Friends of the Libraty are to deposit/send funds for Dr. Barr’s innnediate use.
  7. Budget discussion/update:
    1. Grants and funding for FY 2025-2026, including One-Time Rural Library Grant: $43,859.65, for use by 6/30/26, allocated to windows and kitchen update; General Obligation (GO) Bonds: $11,545.82, for use by 4/1/2026, for library resources and equipment; State Grants In Aid: $10, 287.08, for use by 6/30/2026, for collections, salaries, staff professional development; and Rural Library Grant Program, $15,363.84, for use by 6/30/2026, for collections, salaries, staff professional development. Sandra Barr will give an update.
    2. Village municipality must spend $1.50 per person in service area (which is 750) from its own budget, on new collection materials ( digital or physical) in order for the MNPL to be eligible to apply for some funding opportnnities. Sandra Barr will give an update on this and whether it has been conveyed to 1he new Village administration.
    3. At our July 2025 meeting, it was discussed that copies of all operating procedures and instruction books, along with any past meeting minutes still need to be shared with the Village office so they may be stored and updated for futnre use. Discussion/update on this from Sandra Barr and board members.
  8. New Business:
    1. Overview of all ongoing and upcoming events for the next six months, led by Sandra Barr.
    2. Update on how the public space around the library is being utilized, and ideas for future improvements/events.
    3. Update on library hours and part time library aide.
